Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree

Every year my family always goes and gets a tree from the local christmas tree vendor. We usually do it within the first week of December to get into the Christmas spirit. Along with watching certain movies, drinking egg nog, sending cards, and of course, sending and recieving gifts. This year we decided to do things a little different and cut down our tree. It was actually a great idea and a pretty fun experience. We went to Ticonderoga Farms in South Riding, VA, and we brought along the family's "step son," Simeon aka Sim Simma. He played the role of Moses with his measuring stick and we had a ton of laughs. My Mom, Aidan, My Dad, and I all took turns taking the saw to the bottom of the tree. Aidan went first and got about half way through, followed by my Mom who thought she did a lot, but actually only got about half of the saw into the tree. Next was me, I got to about the 3/4 mark and my Dad came in as the closer. Aidan picked up the 7 ft tree and lugged it back across the muddy and snow powdered terrain.

After we got home and got the tree set up, we proceeded to put on all of our ornaments. This years new ornaments were the Red Sox and Patriots logos, hand drawn on the bulbs. A great addition.

Christmas times always bring back great memories and an all around tranquil mood in the Johnson household. This year, I'm asking for some shoes and some bills to be paid from Santa, and HE BETTER COME THRU!

Winter Time

I really miss being a kid in East Bridgewater, no worries, no bills, no problems, just fun. When the snow would fall, we would go out and play in it ALL day until then sun went down. Back in the day, I didn't even have to shovel...Now, snow-days aren't really the greatest thing SO today, Jay2daWinterWonderland took matters into his own hands:
I woke up around 1 pm and had a bunch of txts and notifications from Facebook and what not. So i got on and saw that multiple statuses were talking about snow. Usually I here there is going to be snow because its a big deal in VA, like if this was during the week, then the schools would be closed for at least two days...wimps. Regardless, I looked outside, and to my surprise everything had a thick white coat of snow...Good snow too, the type of snow that you can build forts with have snowball wars with. So after my brother and I shoveled the walkway, the front, the deck, and the driveway, we had some snow fun. I threw some snow at him like a baseball and he hit it with the shovel, imitating Big Papi. Then after that, a small one-sided snowball war ensued and I had him in the feedle position on the front lawn while I threw large snowballs at him. After he went inside, I made some snow angels and made a snowman...Great day, and it made me miss being an innocent little kid a lot...but like Ice Cube said, "Today was a Good Day."

yellow snow is bad.

Multimedia message

This thanksgiving was at my uncle's crib, each year we go back and forth between houses and share memories from the past as well as catching up on our current lives. We also celebrated the second half of my dad's birthday with them and did a different activity that wasn't a usual part of Johnson tradition...we got flashcards and wrote down one thing about each other that we were thankful for, and it was quite successful...after that we had some chatting about random stuff and then I rolled out.

Now I'm curled up with my amazing girlfriend watching the news, trying not to slip into the 'itis :)

Happy Thanksgiving from Jay2da and DL&BG

Good Music - K'naan

I went to Rock the Bells 09 with a bunch of friends from work and one of my partners in crime, GD aka Future and I remember this dude K'naan coming on. I had heard of his music before, but I never really listened. When he performed I was like "WOE!!!" everything was dope, his lyrics were so deep, and the brought you in, and it was like he was painting a picture with the words, allowing us to be apart of his performance and feel the pain that he had from growing up in Somalia. So I finally downloaded his album titled "Troubadour" and my favorite songs are "Waving Flag", "Somalia", and "If Rap Gets Jealous." But the whole joint is ILL, download it and let me know what you think...if you don't already have it.
